Work Internships

The Work Internship Program offers an opportunity for individuals to use the available resources and the setting of the CAC to foster personal and spiritual growth and to serve and support the CAC’s mission. A work internship is for those wanting to integrate action and contemplation. In immersing yourself in the midst of the CAC’s daily operations, you open yourself to many opportunities for challenge, stimulation, and reflection. Over the years, many people in life transitions (career, vocation, retirement, various other personal life changes, etc.) have found a work internship at the CAC to be a place of renewal, challenge and guidance for their life journeys.

The program offers:
Participation in CAC activities
Room and board
Possible stipend

The program expects:
Flexibility and openness to work assignments
Work week of approximately 25-35 hours
A commitment to begin/continue a contemplative prayer practice
An openness to spiritual and personal growth

Discernment occurs between the Center and the work intern regarding the skill set(s) he/she brings and how those skills best support the needs of the Center.

Length of Stay
The CAC requires a minimum stay of 9-12 weeks and a maximum stay of 1 year.

Application Process
Anyone interested in a work internship at the CAC must submit a completed application packet. This includes: general application, skill set survey, resume, spiritual autobiography, and professional and personal recommendations. After your packet has been reviewed, a phone interview will be scheduled. A second phone interview may be required.

Period of Discernment
We try to discern whether applicants and the work internship program are a good fit prior to accepting a work intern candidate into the program. However, we have found that a period of discernment at the beginning of a work internship gives both the work intern and the CAC an opportunity to actively discern together the rightness of fit. Upon acceptance into the work internship program, you will be given the details of how this discernment process will work.

If you are interested in being considered for a work internship at the CAC, you can request an application packet by emailing workinternship@cacradicalgrace.org or by calling
