Tepeyac Guesthouse
Tepeyac is the residential
expression of the Center for Action and Contemplation; living out
the CAC's vision, philosophy, and mission.
It is home to Guest House
Managers, Jim and Kathy Nolan. Tepeyac has also been the temporary
home of people from all over the
United States and all around the world. Interns, private
retreatants and, visitors come to Tepeyac for a variety of reasons.
With such diversity, the energy level and communal environment is
always changing. Regardless of the many comings and goings, Tepeyac
maintains a warm, welcoming, contemplative atmosphere.
Tepeyac is an older adobe home that can comfortably
accommodate 10-12 people. During full internship programs, the house
is closed to private retreatants. Although there are a few single
bedrooms, it is common during an internship program for people to
share bedrooms and bathrooms. While the guest house is located in
a residential neighborhood, people often comment that the backyard
feels very rural. The chickens, the gardens, and the large 150-year-old
cottonwood tree contribute to this atmosphere. We seek to embody
values of simple living and environmental sensitivity. In an effort
to model a more simple, sustainable lifestyle, we maintain different
types of organic gardening projects and serve vegetarian meals.
Since
Tepeyac is located several houses down from the CAC, it is an enjoyable
walk to and from the Center. There is a house car for use within
the city limits, but this will be limited since the vehicle is also
used for shopping and other household activities.
Tepeyac is a non-smoking facility, but smoking
is permitted outside.
If you would like to stay at Tepeyac please make
arrangements by calling Kathy or Jim at 505-242-1846. The fee is
$35 per night/person, breakfast included.
